Anxiety Is Fed By Fear





My last exacerbating anxiety attack led to further learning the strong relationship between my thoughts and my wellbeing. A personal experience helped me better understand this connection. Let me share this interesting enlightening experience with you.

My mother knew I was still battling with anxiety symptoms, and despite my best efforts, could not shake them. Being a concerned mother, she recommended I go see a man she had learned of that had helped many people overcome their various health and emotional challenges. She thought maybe he could also help me.

Just who is this man and what does he do I wondered.

She told me this man had personally developed "guided meditation audio programs" that help people. He seemed to be able to help people on about every level and she thought he could also possibly assist me.

Well, I read about the owner of this "guided meditation business," and decided I would go in for his free consultation to learn more about his programs and to see if they could help with my remaining perplexing symptoms.

So I set up an appointment for the free consultation figuring I had nothing to lose. I went to that consultation with great expectations and hope for learning how I could get better. While there, I was able to speak to a few people that had overcome their various personal challenges. They attributed their improvements to the personally selected, by the owner, guided meditation CDs available at this business.



Control Your Thoughts Or They Can Control You


While at that "guided meditation" business and while waiting for my consultation, I looked through pages of before and after health recovery testimonies. I viewed a moving health and emotional recovery video testimony from a woman who seemed to have additionally been suffering from nervous exhaustion. She had been on several medications that were not helping her recover. After years of struggling, she claimed the program helped her finally get well.

I noticed all of these pictures on the owner's walls personally signed by his clients. They were sincerely thanking him for the help, in many different areas, that his programs had provided them.

After this introduction to the intriguing positive effects of his programs, I was escorted into a smaller office just off the waiting room. My thoughts upon entering the "sales room" were at this point favorable toward his programs. Clearly his "personally selected guided meditation CDs" were improving people's lives and have been helping people evidently for many years.

Yes, his programs were assisting people lose weight, better achieve their goals, overcome fear and help with emotional and physical healing. These healings were quite evident from my observations and conversations with other clients at the center.

I was impressed with how a "reprogrammed brain" could bring about all kinds of improvements in these people's lives, bodies and minds. The great significance of my thoughts and thinking process was truly driven home to me while there.

I've got to address my brain I thought. If my brain or thinking has played a role in my anxiety, then what do I need to learn and apply to reverse this I wondered. How can I learn to think differently? Maybe one of his customized programs could also help me.

I thought I was a pretty positive person, but maybe I was unknowingly processing information or thinking in an unhealthy way. I thought maybe his program could "reprogram" my brain which would then manifest in less nervousness and its accompanying symptoms.

Well, back to me in the "sales" office. The owner's sales assistant briefly explained the guided meditation program to me. I figured I could spend about $300 maximum for this program.

This "sales" conversation was short, not much time for me to express why I was hoping their program could help me nor to learn much more about their program. The sales assistant next informed me the program was $2,000........ I thought, oh my, that is very expensive - wait until my husband hears this. We had already spent thousands of dollars on my get well journey. I thought certainly I could help out my brain and nerves in some other more affordable way.

Next, the owner of this business, came in to join us in the office and stated his ideas on why I had my out of balance body. He wanted to know if I could afford the program. I stated I needed to speak to my husband first and felt a little uncomfortable with the sales pressure, especially in my overly sensitized nerve state.

I knew there was no way I would pay that amount of money for this program and felt surely there must be a more affordable program available to assist me. Well, they then lowered the price substantially. I always appreciate a better deal, but the price still made this program out of the question. They were kind enough to give me a couple free "guided meditation CDs" on my way out.

Surely, if I ever had any doubts as to the physical impact the mind can have on the body, they were dispelled after that encounter at that guided meditation center.

Though I did not go for that program that had definitely helped many people, something really clicked in me in regards to understanding how the brain and our thoughts are extremely potent, far more than I realized. I also later learned, sometimes, when the nerves are over reacting and a little unsettled, as mine were, that a person needs some additional help to rebalance and heal them.

I did not want to take medication to do this as I just internally felt that was not the right choice for me. I knew two people who temporarily took anti anxiety medications to ease their panic attacks. Their panic attacks did subside, though for one of them it was difficult to get off the medication.

I then immediately rushed out to the book store and purchased her highly recommended book, Hope and Help For Your Nerves. I also ordered a copy on line of her other book titled, Peace From Nervous Suffering. I could not wait to start reading her books as I just knew I would benefit from her writings.

I started reading Hope And Help For Your Nerves as soon as I returned home. I was utterly astonished and immensely comforted when I started reading this powerful book.

At the guided meditation business, I learned more about the mind and body connection. Then with Dr. Weekes's books, I could finally truly understand, yes I had anxiety that was a result of overly tired nerves.

My out of balance nervous system was contributing to my exhaustion. My strange remaining and troubling symptoms could be caused from overly sensitive nerves. Eureka!

Dr. Weekes's books helped me truly understand and believe the impact overly sensitive nerves can have on the body. Plus Dr. Weekes had a solution for banishing anxiety.

Reading Dr. Claire Weekes's two books clearly educated me on how our nervous system can create total havoc within the body. In simply communicated terms so essential for the fatigued nervous sufferer's brain, she helped me understand I was experiencing the trying symptoms from overly fatigued nerves.

She says nervous illness can begin very easily, developing from stress and nervous fatigue to produce a pattern of symptoms which can become more frightening to the sufferer than the original cause of their illness or breakdown. At the time of reading Dr. Claire Weekes's books, I was also going to a new highly intelligent chiropractor and naturopathic medical doctor. I had decided to go to him after I had my last and final anxiety attack.

After reading Hope and Help For Your Nerves, Dr. Weekes helped give me the vocabulary to explain what was happening in my body and I then explained to my doctor that I believed I was experiencing the effects of anxiety.
