Nourishing Traditions is Revolutionary Breakthrough, But Need Exercise

You can't put everything in the one Nourishing Traditions book by Sally Fallon, but I would just add to the glowing recommendations, that the nourishing traditions of traditional people's went along with a very physically active life.
Eating this diet, while engaging in the inactive modern lifestyle may not have the same results.
And "cardio" is not the way. It takes high intensity, brief exercise to really get the body going, stimulate human growth hormone and maintain youth and strength.
Another factor is that modern soils simply don't have the nutrition in them. You can eat all the raw milk and whatever you like, if the minerals aren't in the soil they won't be in you.
Search BRIX and quality of food for more on what is actually in food. Yahoo has a great Brix group.
Eryn's Reply: Thank you for your feedback on Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon.
You know, Jack LaLanne had a quote which I repeat often, "Exercise is king, and nutrition is queen." He is also said, "If man made it, I don't eat it."
Now granted if the body is completely worn out and weak, you do not want to take on a marathon. However, he makes it
very clear how important it is to exercise and keep our body moving. The saying, "Use it, or lose it" comes to mind.
But you make a very good point. First of all, each person is biochemically different from one another. Each person's metabolism is different. One's nutritional needs can vary according to their age, planning a pregnancy, amount of physical activity in their life, as well as the seasons of the year, to name a few.
But one thing remains a constant, and that is the importance of always selecting good nourishing foods - during all phases of life.
Personally, my body communicates to me what it desires to eat. It communicates which foods make me feel good and which foods don't. I let those desires and positive or negative reactions guide me in my eating.
What Nourishing Traditions provides is a wide selection of healthy eating choices. Each person can determine themselves and select from the Nourishing Traditions menu, which food choices most appeal to them at the stage of life they are in, or the amount of physical activity in their life.
Again, thank you for communicating the importance of physical activity and exercise.
Yes, and healthy soils are another huge discussion. Will we one day get to point where our soils are rich, healthy, full of plenty of minerals, teaming with beneficial living micro-organisms creating their "magic potion" in the soil that brings forth nutrient rich produce.
Think of the most beautiful and breathtaking forests you have visited. These forests are growing in soils free of fertilizers and yet have perfect soil habitats that provide perfect sustenance for these inspiring plants. I look forward to the "resurrection" of these wonderful soil food webs around our planet that create ideal healthy produce - rich and full of plenty of nutrients.
Thank you for letting your voice be heard Mikali and for the efforts I bet you are making to improve things here.
All the best,
Eryn
